Bass Gear

This page will highlight the gear I use to get a great bass guitar tone.

Bass Guitars: I love passive pickups, but prefer active Bartolini pickups. In my opinion, they provide the warmest, punchiest, and most well rounded tone.

1994 Pedulla Thunderbolt

Ibanez SR 505
Ibanez SR 500

Strings: I've never used a better sounding, longer lasting string than the DR DDT set that I switched to years ago. They handle drop tuning as well as they do standard tuning. They are stainless steel and sound bright, fat, and crisp.

Pedals: These pedals were carefully selected over the years not only to help me achieve a great bass tone, but also to be useful for re-amping and for keyboard.

Audio Technica System 10 Wireless Stomp
MXR M80 Bass DI+
MXR M87 Bass Compressor

SansAmp Bass Driver DI V2

Amp and Cabinet: When I need to play LOUD, I hook my board up to my GK 700RBii and GK NEO 4x10 Cabinet. I prefer to run through the effects return, bypassing the tone of the amp and allowing my pedal board to do all the tone shaping.
